Pierre Thomas is due for a breakout season in '09

New Orleans Saints running back Pierre Thomas has waited patiently and learned for two seasons before given his current chance to become the primary rusher in the backfield. After signing as an undrafted free agent out of Illinois in 2007, Thomas made his way onto the practice squad and eventually into 12 games and rushing for 252 yards on 52 carries and a touchdown.
His shining moment came in the 2007 season finale at the Chicago Bears. Thomas rushed for 105 yards on 20 carries and his first career touchdown. Not only was it his first hundred yard game, but it was the first and only time a Saint running back had rushed for over 100 yards in a game all season.
